I like these words.....can you imagine how many words there are that have been coined by someone....and are just waiting to be brought to light and life again? I hope you'll continue this noble work.....it calls to you.....save the words, Naut.....save the words!!

I had a horse run away with me once, but we didn't go past any
hanging washlines. Almost forgot about that... I like the old words.

A great word, one could almost say a swear word...and I was never much good at riding a horse. The darn things wouldn't stand still and I was always scared.

I suppose it says something about the state of the roads in Scotland in those times Naut.
I expect there were a few uncommon swear words used in protest.

That conjures up quite a picture. What I see is my mother's wash hanging on a clothesline, white sheets flapping in the wind, and remembering Dopey, a pit-bull/terrier mixture, jumping up and hanging on them with his locked teeth, also swinging in the wind and getting them muddy. Mostly I see my mother's anger because she was going to have to wash them again.
