Well, Kris-Sis,

I think we're probably more of like minds than differing on the subject. My problem is that at the moment there seems to be no other effective recourse to keep the truly huge, powerful, greedy, and generally uncaring in check at the moment. I despise lying sh***bags who abuse the system and I want judges to throw out silly cases and disbar shysters who try to take them into the system. But in spite of all that, the threat of the lawsuit seems to be the only effective recourse we, the average shmucks have these days. Politicians, unions, newspapers, no one is looking out for us anymore. So if some shyster does it for money, so be it, that's what we're stuck with.

But I'm with you -- there's got to be some way to improve things.

Oh, my dear Little Bro, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one....I'm firmly in the pro-tort reform corner.  Of course, having spent my career in liability claims colors my opinion quite a bit! LOL!  But, when I think in terms of tort reform, I'm dreaming of true and complete tort reform, instituting common sense...the rule of the reasonable and prudent person.  We should also get tougher with mandatory financial responsibility laws and their enforcement....It would be nice if personal responsibility began to be worked into the values taught in our schools - wait! I'm dreaming!

As always - great fun and right on! As to my own experiences with electrical devices - one day I stuck a pair of my Mom's scissors into a wall outlet - the 'why' of which escapes me, since I was about 7 or 8 at the time, but should have known better even then. I did let go as the points melted in a flash - but I have avoided 'playing around' with electricity ever since, LOL...
