I do hope the rains have let up by now...And something tells me that this really cute word is somehow related to/derived from 'coochie-coo'...

I am sure mothers invent endearing little words for their babies alone. That is one sweet little word Ku-chiku. I did plant about a hundred saffron bulbs, but they never seemed to flower much, plenty of leaf, but hardly any saffron, not surprising when there are only two little stamens per flower. Cheaper to buy it although it is very expensive. Once it was used as a form of money where it was grown extensively

For the most part this year, rain has been a rare sight in the Baltimore Area. June was the rainiest June on record. The first week of October was super rainy. Outside of that, not much. Weather-wise, it has been a great year where I have been at.

ps...that word is delicious and does sound out like what I have said to babies.

i've got bulbs to plant for next spring. Am waiting for the ground to near enough to freeze so that the naughty Squirrel doesn't follow along behind me digging them up and eating!!

Re: annicita

okay, I just read all about them and I'm so excited now...can't wait to grow them because my whole front flower bed is made up of mainly purple flowers...crocus will be perfect!

annicita

I don't know anything about them...is that where saffron comes from?!  I know they had crocus in KC at our office.  I didn't order these seeds, they were a bonus packet thrown in by the seller and the envelope just says "Gift: Saffron".

You are going to grow crocus?  I was reading up on it and it's an interesting flower.  It takes so many of them to get just an ounce of saffron
