It's a good idea to leave a trap baited even after you think you've
got them all. Where you see one, there's another about to find its way through the same "invisible" entryway... I also like those snap trap (Tomkat brand, I think) gadgets because you don't have to handle the furry little guys.

Good way to go Ciel . You just don't want them indoors . The mouse outside my window is a wood mouse, but if they put one foot inside the greenhouse snap. Last year a bird ate them if I left them in a certain place, so it was not a waste.

Mr Graysome is a way more terrible death than a snap trap for a mouse. He loves them. Plays with them until they have a heart attack then brings them to us to show how clever he is. I guess the mice are learning as we don't see many inside nowadays.
Oh and anyone who has lived through the plagues of mice that we get in Australia, would never want to see a live mouse again.

You're absolutely right - mice and rats are vectors for disease and have been throughout the ages. And we have absolutely no reason to believe they think about death - but we need to control them to prevent as much suffering as we can to those who do...
