we had a lady at the seniors home where I worked who did get onto the floor and throw a tantrum. It was priceless. She would throw away her cane and get down very carefully and then scream yell swear and thrash around. Best way to help her was if I got down beside her and patted and calmed and promised all sorts of crooning rubbish. the nurses said that I looked rediculous. Their boss lying on the floor like that, but it worked.

Nah - your ps was the way to go. When someone is walking around with that kind of attitude, they probably have alreay been emotionally slapped plenty!

Yes well , they are having to cope with stiffness and other things, they are really like big kids acting as children. You have got to humour them or they would drive you cranky.Good one Pat. Mother.

Well - I'm glad about the p.s., LOL...But I will admit this: I would neither be temperamentally nor otherwise suited for dealing with these nice people who, I'm sure all have their own crosses to bear; and I admire you for making that contribution...
