You are right about statistics. They can be manipulated and thrown about all which ways. Even something as simple as baseball has what I call statistical overload.

I really like the thinking here especially your conclusion which brings it together perfectly
The important thing is to, individually, think through an issue and when given the opportunity to understand another viewpoint....take it and truly listen, learning if there is something there that strikes you. We're all in this together after all.
