was it a cheque?can you stop payment someway? Or take the paint and stuff he buys and tell him to go. Blame the sons , they won't mind.

I guess his definition of 'bonded' is not quite the same as ours. Silly man - doesn't he know things are so easy to verify in this new age? Hopefully he has turned the page, wants to be an honest person now, but yes - definitely keep a careful eye out.
