A very happy belated birthday! I loved all that stuff, too, and often think about how the generations all seem to wax poetic about their own time...and wonder if the latest couple will feel that way about theirs as it's so hard to imagine they could....but that's how my folks felt about mine! But still, things have been changing at such a rapid pace the last 10-15 years, 'culture' can hardly keep up with itself from what I can see! Anyway, as that wonderful expression goes, it is what it is. Did you see that new study that says most folks are happiest in their 20's and then again in their 70's? I still say it's all in your attitude no matter when, what or where.....so maybe most of us just have the best attitudes then - which, I think, is kind of what your post is about!

Things have sure changed a lot over the years. I wonder what other changes will follow throughout my lifetime.

63 is so long ago for me I can't remember what it was like except that I was still working as a nurse and it was beginning to wear me out. Happy Birthday for what's left of it...I think you have about 4 hours of it left. I hope the earlier part of it was wonderful for you.

My daughter will turn 60 next September. Seems quite young to me,
but age from 50 on is a matter of health and vitality. If you've got that, no problem. If not, then you feel old. You will have many more things to remember in another decade, because the world is going to change even more than it did since you were a teen-ager. Happy birthday, and welcome to the time of the wisely seasoned. ☺

Happy Birthday darling and many many more. I'm older but not as wise I believe. You are such a special person.

Happy Birthday! Even I can remember those things, and I read all the Hobbit books at once when I was in bed with the flu one year...
