I enjoyed reading your series. You have a deep and very interesting family history. I found the Depression years very fascinating to read about.

difficult to totally ignore the Depression years and the war when writing family History. You have done the telling well actually. It happened, times were tough for almost everyone but life went on and suddenly the war was ending and Kabu was born. nothing has ever been quite the same since. LOL
Thank you, I have loved this history, and you have told it so well.

Oh, the whole thing was so interesting. Thank you so much for
posting it here. I know a lot of folks our age can remember our folks scrimping and scraping through the depression, the habits of thrift seem to have stayed with them even when times got better. Wonderful picture - what a strong woman. You could depend on anything that woman said to you being 100%.

I guess it might become a bit depressing to keep recalling hard times as indeed they were. Sadly those who should really learn about them, never will. Enjoy the last days of summer, well they are still like that here, it has been a an engaging tale.

Re: Nautikos
I really appreciate you following me all the way through this, your wonderful comments and your support. You are very special to Blogit. Son always loves hearing your comments about anything he throws in. He told me last night, as if I hadn't already noticed, that your Toronto Blue Jays had cinched their division but had lost last night's game so now your Toronto Blue Jays and our Kansas City Royals are now neck and neck for something (my mind just left me). LOL

You got into the ‘depressing Great Depression era’ because it was inevitable - you have given us a masterful true-to-life glimpse of your Oklahoma Family, and that era affected people and shaped their lives in ways which, with some exceptions, only later generations fully understood. (There are writers and historians of that era who did understand much of it).
We also find ourselves at a time of tectonic shifts – but most people cannot see it or don’t want to…
