Re: Annicita,
Of course I did that, but they still like the warm indoors and the so many other interesting things!

Re:
Well here's another for you Ceil it is not a house mouse but i am watching it closely, The trouble is it is becoming too tame. I think it comes out during the day as cat's are probably prowling at night.

Re: Naut,
My sister at that age was spotted in her California chewing, something in her grubby little hand. Investigation revealed half of one of those huge banana slugs. Now she would be more inclined to have it with garlic butter, as escargot!

It is a strange answer coming from a 6-year old. My Mom told a story of finding me sitting in a puddle after a rain, eating a dew worm - but I was 2, and I have repressed the memory of that occasion, LOL...

Re: FormerStudentIntern.
One always wonders how kids arrive at their conclusions about the world, what was fed in that comes out as unexpected notions!

Re: adnohr,
I like mice, they are unbearably cute and winsome... but I also like not finding them investigating my stove, or chewing up my family heirloom, the authentic old wool oriental carpet for nest linings. I like having little lives showing up randomly, but not their leaving their little calling cards wherever... And I really don't like that they are so destructive to human stuff, even before they start creating a nasty smell and ever more mice. What I don't like most is having to eliminate them from my house by hard means, and without the delay that increases the problem exponentially.
Sigh...

Re: Krisles,
Childhood is fraught with tragic decisions. It must have been a hard lesson to a little kid, though we might chuckle at it now.

Re: Pat,
Or, snaking choices? Next time I see him, I will ask what he'd do if he caught a snake.

I bought a white mouse during an outing to Woolworth's one day with a friend and her mother....I think somehow the mother must not have known I was doing it or she would not have countenanced my doing so without checking with my mom first. I took it home in one of those little white cartons that look like Chinese food takeouts now but were mostly for goldfish then. I hadn't thought about the story in years...I'll have to post it now that I've remembered as it was a hoot. It ended up as a snack, in fact!

The little kid needs to know that mice are food for snakes. He might
change his mind about snacking choices... LOL
