I believe any individual knows what not to joke about. It is sad to see sad things laughed at or to laugh at other peoples opinions if they differ from your own. I just believe I have far more than I can manage to be the best I can be without trying to fix, laugh at or say rude bad things about those who think differently that the way i think.

I must say that I grew up on "Little Moron" jokes.  After that came "the Beatnik" jokes, then the "Pollock" jokes, then the "Priest, Preacher, Rabbi" jokes, and so on.  Somewhere along the way the "Blond Jokes"  and the "no arms no legs" jokes worked their way into that mix.  Sometimes the jokes were out of line and not funny to me.  Other times a guffaw would escape me.  A good sense of humor is an important part of surviving in this life.

I suppose basically most  jokes have a bit of cruelty involved. I suppose the audience,if there is one thinks well but for the so, so, there go I . Now could you think of the first joke that a cave man might have grunted as he hauled his future wife back to his cave by her hair we are led to assume..

It kinda depends where the laughter is coming from.

If the joke is told from affection, acknowledgement of the absurdities of one's own kin and kind, it has quite a different flavor from one told out of mean-spiritedness, arrogance, and spite.

I think we have to have humor about things that make us uncomfortable, but in the former vein, not the latter. PC denies laughter without making such distinctions as the former and latter.

Pat

I just disregard people making those kinds of lists - even joking about them isn't worth the effort, LOL...

The world is a sick place.

One of the funniest Comedians in Australia used to be Steady Eddy and he laughed at himself.

He has Cerebral Palsy and his signature joke was that he didn't need to be get drunk...he acted drunk all the time and he would walk across the stage to show us. He was brave and smart and very funny and that is the way to start I think. Start laughing at ourselves.

So many self righteous pricks (yes pricks) truly believe it is my way or the high way and their idea of my way is that they have it all. All the freedoms, religion included and the money and the rights.

I better leave before this becomes a blog. xx luv U.
