Actually, you are fortunate to feel guilt when you do something you know is wrong. So many people who lie, cheat, steal, etc. have no feelings of guilt at all to keep them from wanting to do it again and again. That's what is bad.

All that is important about the issues of the past like this is how you have come to terms with them for yourself, which is sounds like you have. What I hope is that you have grown more comfortable with dealing with issues that come up...as they will...on your own...that you have used experiences such as this to learn from and build the confidence that you can handle them on your own.

It did all work out and your guide only wantedf you to get thast part of the course done as you did eventually. No point in carrying guilt. It eats away at a person. it's done, your parents backed you, all is well....we are human after all.
