It is turning into quite the mess. A very important thing it is to remember they are striving to reach a welfare state. Jonah Goldberg wrote about that the other day.

As far as I am concerned, this has reached wordlwide crisis status and our leaders have got to take a breath. My immediate reaction to this post..... If 75% of these refugees are men, then there obviously is not that much danger of breaking up families if they let documented families in on some sort of pro rata basis, add in those documented men too old or too young who are unattached to families and take them in.....and then send all the fighting/working age men back to their countries to fend for themselves.
Life is hard when you aren't born in the right place, to the right people, in the right time, etc. It's hard when it seems you are and you end up with an abuser....or you get a deadly illness....or whatever. It stinks, but it is what it is. We can only do what we can do, but we cannot bring down ourselves and our children's futures trying to save everyone in the world. I don't know, I'm just throwing thoughts in the wind.

I wouldn't know where to begin with this human tragedy. No matter what the leaders of the countries decide it will be the wrong answer. Would you send women and children back to Syria???
