This is awesome! I wrote my parents love letters that they sent to each other on my computer and printed them out. And of course kept back up copies on my computer.

What a treasure trove you found!
Can you scan copies for your files to get the photos, too?

Oh I love this. I have boxes of old notes, letters and photographs. One of my Aunts was the family historian and she gave them to me because I am the family's nosy one. All our family talked a lot about those way-way back. That is from my mother's family. I know much less about my father's family. I love that sort of stuff.

It is a job to suss out past family histories, I suppose once it was word of mouth passed down and then it became lost through various reasons. Of course the further one goes back one finds more folk are related, well they are over here, but sometimes thankfully not all are aware of this fact. I had a great aunt who emigrated to USA. Her daughter once told me she had over a hundred great gandchildren.

absolute treasur...any glimpse into the past generations always makes me give thanks that I was born in the 20th century. I admire our pioneer ancestors who came to or were born in the New World whether the Americas Australia or New Zealand.

Fascinating! Exploring old documents that give us a glimpse of our forebears' lives is soo rewarding! It becomes part of one's own biography and enriches it...

It is neat what we can find in books, newspapers and now online. So many history is at our fingertips, and we can learn a lot.
