trouble is these days if you donate unless you go to someone's door and hand them the money you have no idea how much gets lost. I always donated to World Vision...used to support a child, then bought goats and sent money for digging wells. That all stopped when World vision was concerned about their Head quarters in New York during sandy Storm. What I asked myself was a charity doing with real estate of that magnitude. Have never given them anything since. I give, but i choose very carefully.

CCT has the right idea, I think...And I have long since stopped flagellating myself for spending money that could in theory have helped feeding the starving millions of this world, but wouldn't in practice, LOL...

I'm kind of glad that this place is cared for year-round by some expensive crew that I probably pay for in a round-about way in my rent. They do keep it very nice looking, and I enjoy that. But I really enjoy even more the wild areas outside of the cared-for perimeters.

Pat you should have spent a few more dollars and spread a piece of netting over the worst parts. Usually the seeds have a bitter taste incorporated to avoid bird lunch.
