The "sovereign" and the "jester" really do help explain what is going on in American Politics. The Republicans have Trump, and the Democrats have Sanders.

Totally on point post. I only take exception with the first part....while I agree that we have to function with assumptions as a shorthand for....well, functioning, I don't agree that they automatically have grounds.... I mean, so many are just based on false beliefs....there is a difference between assumptions based on actual observation and those just based on heresay, familial tradition and conditioning (bigoted?), poor or no education, our area of the world, unfortunate experiences that warp, or at least skew, perceptions...well, I could go on and on but I'll spare you, LOL!
I fear too many people do, in fact, function on assumptions, when they should acknowledge the assumption but stay open to possibility and observe, observe, observe before they form opinions, much less open their yaps..... and be willing to go with what their observations teach them. Unfortunately, too many don't do this and thus we have this society of "Ready -Fire - Aim" constantly obvious in blogs, in the papers, on TV, in politics, etc., etc. etc.........JMHO. But, the rest of your post I am in TOTAL agreement with!!!!!! I especially love the 'Jester" - Perfection!

You were right, your comment was overly lengthy, Pat's was to the point which I understood.

Yes well not much one can say to this, it is probably 99% accurate. Maybe the Jester is not quite so well protected as he used to be and not so easily defined. Not that I follow other politics ours are crazy enough.

The "court jester" could have warned us ahead of time of his role in the political scene by always wearing colorful, diamond patterned clothing and a funny hat.
Good post on all points.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Naut.
Especially like your point about the middle/lower class being just as devious and prone to anti-social jerk behavior as the so-called upper crust.

The Jester will make it all the way to the top...that would be my expectation, if I were to talk Politics.
