Oh no need for embarrassment! Slang is a cool, important part of any culture and I find it interesting. I'm surprised I haven't noticed more Aussie slang since one of my favorite writers is from Australia and his books must be full of it. Then again, there are some differences between the Australian and American editions.

Oh and sooky. Hmmm, I had to look that one up, never heard it before. Definition noted, might use it some time.

Re:
We are pretty close to Canada actually and it sure does get cold here. :) The loon can indeed be haunting. Doesn't scare me though. :)

It reads like Canada but I am sooky and never swim up here, I leave that to being in Australia...Oh but the sound of a Loon one of the most haunting.

As a Mainer, I am indeed fortunate. There are lakes everywhere around here all fresh and ready for one to just dive in. :) After the innitial chill it's wonderfully refreshing.

Goodness it made me shiver walking into the water, evidently it felt warmer once one
embraced the whole. Nice poem, it could be true if one was lucky.
