I nearly missed this great poem. Such a great description of just how they must have felt and the disbelief.

Good poem Taps We all had chicken pox as kids and as you know the cunning little virus hides in a sleeve somewhere and then later in life if one becomes run down one gets shingles. I think that is accurate I have had most common childhood complaints and a few years ago even had glandular fever.

Oh, the poor Royals... Nobody (in my experience) suffers more from
a lousy childhood illness or the flu than a big strong man.

TAPS
A poem about chickenpox - remarkable! And so well done...The thing itself is a bit scary, of course! I too had never heard of aduls gettiing them. I can't remember whether I had the chickenpox or the measles when I was a kid - I just know it was either one or the other...But I took that vaccination against shingles, just in case...

I have never met an adult who has come down with Chicken Pox, which you have described so well in your poem.
Last season, a bunch of NHL players came down with the Mumps.
