Really - all one do is throw up one's hands and acknowledge fate...Of course, in view of the amazing advancces in medicine, today those three ladies might have lived a full life...

Women did not seem to last long in those days, I suppose it was natural selection. Cruel but the tougher genes survived to make the females of today. Although of course we are all staggering on with the help of pills.It was a sad  kind of existence , but perhaps time seemed slower somehow.

I don't know how he kept going in the face of all that...

Twists and turns in one's life. Poor man how difficult it was how modern is medicine that can save. When people have asked me what period I really would have fitted into best...I don't hesitate...Today. with all its problems, today.
