I suppose as you say Naut light can take longer to penetrate anything that is considered

as mass. The only other way I can suggest is to bend it so that it zigzags thus hindering its progress.

I am somewhat familiar with the answers to the second question but not at all the

first. I have always found your science class to be very interesting.

I did not know that light could be slowed down in water or a vacuum. As the old saying goes, we learn something new every day.

Nautikos

Hey, Professor!  This one actually held my interest for real....not just politeness...all the way through! (well, there WAS a bit in the middle but I'll not quibble....).  I had two memories as I read.....he exact color of my lake's water with sunight filtering down to the area I always end up in when I jump off the dock - it's deep enough that I don't go all the way to the bottom, my toes just get really cold and when I open my eyes it is quite dark and I quickly push upward to the light - and I love that filtered light through the lake water....hadn't thought about it, so thanks for that!

And then.....I was chuckling as I had to remember one of my first claims of a frozen beef carcass hurtling over the side of an icy overpass out of an out-of-control sliding refrigerated truck.....and landing on the hood and windshield of our insured who - at that exact moment in time - was passing under on his way from a long hard day at work.  It was grotesquely funny.....and the first time my job truly got my attention on a philosophical basis.  I mean, a flying frozen cow?!  How do you tell people what your husband/dad died of all these years later....is it now a family holiday dinner story that horrifies new inductees to the family, until they see everyone is busting a gut....see, I wonder about these things still when I think about that claim.
