Fascinating experiences every day! I must admit, I haven't been on a bus in decades, and even my last subway ride occurred several years ago! And Toronto is one of the main multicultural hubs of North America - it may even be the largest one!

And to CCT - these are not all different 'races'; there really aren't that many races - they are for the most part people from different cultures...

I suppose most races speak to each other in their home tongue.
It must have felt strange to have accompanied different races
after as you said the closeness of neighbours who were familiar.
Rather exciting in a way I imagine.

Sydney is somewhat different. Unfortunately, people who have arrived from different parts of the World congregate together in one suburb. It makes the city something like a small world of Nations isolating themselves from each other.

My youngest son David lives in Seattle, he's a nurse doing medical computer records for several hospitals. He calls on Christmas, we don't talk any other time because he has some kind of issues since his mother and I divorced. Matter of fact of my five only Erin and Eileen call now and then.I'd like to see Seattle but in another life I suppose.

I am fascinated when I hear an accent or another language. Having studied Spanish, French and Italian with a smattering of Arabic I listen to see if I know which language.
