Re: LET IT FLY
Maybe you have some points...i have read these things before, but now it is definitely seen as a flag of repression because the world knows that the slavery was a vile part of History when and where it happened and happens.

LET IT FLY
It is a matter of knowing one's history. In brief; The Civil War was not about slavery
near as much as the average Joe thinks. Many Southerners that fought in that war did
not believe in slavery, they were fighting for States' rights.... The North was much
more concerned about things like: holding the Union together for strength of
'democrocy,' than about getting rid of slavery.... And let's remember the North--who
also had slaves for a period of time, focused on an industrial economy. The South,
agriculture. Turn the tables and The North may be viewed very differently today. And
to think Lincoln was a Black sympathizer would be wrong. So, it is a matter of
Southern culture and respecting their fallen ones. My views vary from topic to topic
but I rather be honest than make everyone happy.

Re:
Yes it is a definite slap in the face to see it flying high especially at a government building

Y; know I would have gone to the Southern States of America as a tourist and not thought about that flag and what it stood for.
Having listened to arguments for and against, I am personally glad that it is going into a Museum. I think to myself If I was Jewish and I saw a Nazi flag flying in Germany I would feel sick and to Black Americans it must be the same feeling.
