I don't like tatoos. Will never get one.

Re: bca
well some cultures have been practicing for thousands of years, it is a way of making a statement or many statements, so maybe it is here to stay.

Re: annicita
i have one that would not have a tat and the other has two, but put them on his back, so they show if he wants them to.

Well, as I've said before.....I love my own....but, to each his/her own. Actually, I do still plan on getting at least one more, maybe more. I would love to have a whole garden of butterflies across my shoulders and upper back.....not huge, just flittering across...all in white, probably..... It's not something one can explain - you either love them or you don't. I certainly see a lot of ones I think are hideous and I wouldn't put them where they were easily visible.

The tattoo parlor somewhere in the news today is being scrutinized for being a counter culture in the town, but yet so many people have them it's hard to make that criticism now. So time will tell if tattoos go the way of bobbed hair or will maintain an accepted practice in the 21st century.

I know Jean if I had weakened and had an apple tattooed on my tummy it would now look like a cherry. I could not say this to many here, but I know you are discreet.

Love your follow-up post to the one I did. My Granddaughter-in-law is now planning to have another tattoo (her forth)--a semi-colon. It is something in vogue these days and is supposed to have a special meaning of hope for anyone contemplating suicide.

darlin' all good advice...my goodness I have grown so round, if I had tattooed a row boat onto my rear-end years ago, I would now be wearing an aircraft carrier.
