it seems as if , for some people, we punish ourselves more than anyone else ever could when we do something that bothers us. i agree with wiley, forgive yourself and try to do better.

In answer to your comment to me, I am feeling much better and I wish you would cut yourself some slack in life. You are a good soul and don't need any e-mail from anybody to tell you the obvious. Forgive yourself for nothing and everything and move on with your charmed life.

Perhaps she didn't think it was such a big transgression as you did. The important thing is that you learned from the experience. Some never learn or feel any guilt about it at all.
