Very good story chapter. Many things in it remind me of my own childhood, like homemade dresses mom made on the pedal Singer sewing machine, some of them out of chicken feed sacks.

Reminds me of a joke ...Big Louy's Wife had put on his tombstone that he'd died of Gonorrhea, when he had actually died of Diarrhea...better to be thought of as a great lover than a dead shit was what she had decided.
Seriously this is such a good well told story.
