My what a Happy easy Childhood I was blessed with. So well written our Pat that I am appalled at the abuse and cycles these little girls are enduring. I think it is worse to have to endure cycles of gifts and good food and fancy details followed by cruel physical abuse than to never have the kindness. One learns to wait for everything to change back for the worst.

The scene feels familiar to me. Mothers and daughters, emotions get high. Wish things were cool enough for a fire here. Have to go to Atlanta and it is in the high 90's.
