I'm a big non-fiction reader and I also get stuck on the same author for periods of

time. And I have problems getting rid of old books and magazines.

Re:Well when I was a chicken farmer

CCT...You have me rolling!  I once worked in an ad agency and well remember typing copy for an article on eviscerating chickens - hot chick on a cold slab Maybe it was that magazine article you're thinking of?

Well when I was a chicken farmer I read everything about chickens,. I could walk into a pen of a thousand and pick out the ones that were not going to make it. I have read Dickens original series and many I would not want to express an opinion on. I once in my innocence walked into a large book shop and asked if they had any books by Hank Janson, (I think that -was the Author .) He wrote one we all enjoyed when young conscripts . 'Hot Dames on cold slabs.'

I don't know of writer who isn't a reader Krisles. I started reading well before I started school because big Sis stopped reading to me. I am not obsessive though I do like to read all of some Authors. I am reading Ken Follett at present.

I read so many books as well.  My family doesn't understand my obsession with reading.

I love to read Clive Cussler, David Baldacci, Stepehn King, Dean Koontz and my fave Janet Evanovich especially her Stephanie Plum series that starts with One for the Money.

I like reading as well. For me, my favorite series is The Alex Cross Series by James Patterson. It is always exciting to see just what Cross is doing to do to solve the crime(s).

Fascinating! I share your obsession with reading (and, like you, I can never part with any books, nor with mags - I have boxes and boxes with Scientific American and Car and Driver, LOL); it's just that we're at least partly occupying different literary worlds. We share the classics, of course, and absolutely nothing compares with Shakespeare (I love his Sonnets as well) but then in my case there's a lot of history, science and philosophy, and my knowledge of the contemporay novel is rather limited. And things like Game of Thrones and Outlander are white areas on the map...
