Re: Vt

Naut, thanks for reading. Some people are taking this the wrong way. Hey, my

specialty is Environmental Studies and I feel very confident when I speak of the issues.

But I'm not a Greenpeace radical or a Naomi Klein type. I'm a Moderate Republican

with ''realist views'' and I support capitalism...and smaller government.... Obviously

we will need fossil fuels until we further transition into alternative energies. Much of

the problem is lack of resources. In a nutshell: The biggest problem facing the earth

is the human pop. of 7.3 billion. And...the ones that aren't living a Western lifestyle

are looking to. Back to the poem. It is about a rural stretch of land in Northern Pa.

Vt

I suggest a little 'thought experiment': Imagine that all 330 million Americans suddenly get the notion to return to the 'roots' and live off the land...In reality, this 'iving-off-the- land' thing is an elitist pipe dream, possible only for a few, LOL...I don't mean to suggest that we shouldn't be careful with our resources, and I'm sure there's a lot of room for improvement in all areas, but that's a different story...

There is a lot to be concerned about with the environment these days.

Re: Thanks CCT

Thanks but I noticed a couple of mistakes, cant take too much credit on that one. I

myself, would have kinda liked that one if it wasn't for the blemishes I noticed after.

You were kind and didn't say anything.

Re: VT01

Thanks Krisles. Yes, the ''style'' maybe but I think I should have put a semicolon

at the end of the first sentence. Also, I shouldn't have used care and careless in the

same sentence.... I always notice additional mistakes after. Thanks again.

Good poem Vermont raw but effective. Sadly today the earth can be torn brutally by machinery and plundered indiscriminately for its bounty. Beauty alas take a second   place when wealth is sought by those who are just passing through a meagre time span.

I have a hard time following the logic that the people who buy are less to blame than the people who sell in any market transaction that has negative aspects that are well known and continue to escalate  and bring us to the this brink you write of.... If the market did not exist, there wouldn't be a profit to be sought, would there?  I just do not get it....  It's like the guy I followed from Dallas in his little smart car today...going 70-80 all the way while he was weaving in and out of traffic with his head down doing something below dash level, car plastered with green life stickers...a bumper away from killing someone while he played with his tech toy, saving energy and feeling really smug I'm sure.  Point your finger out, you have three coming right back at yourself.....every single one of us. But I like your poetry style

sad isn't it and even people like me who didn't want to know probably cannot sit with our head in the sands. We are quickly destroying the balance across the planet our Home is what we are trashing. All for money which we don't need. I mean who can really need to be a Billionaire.
