Re:

I think movies had changed drastically over the decades....now it's just gratuitous violence, mutilations and lots and lots of gore topped with blood spewing all over the place

I suppose I was always a Bamby and The sound of Music type of girl...well I have always enjoyed almost any type of movie, except horror, that was well acted...It is always sad when one of the Golden Greats is gone. I mean he was also a hero of WW11.

As a teenager, I used to enjoy the slasher films, but now years later, I realized that it was the same old thing after the other.

Christopher Lee had a long, storied career.

Re:

I quit watching so many of these movies because of that.  I am very choosy how I spend my time and money when it comes to movies.

I have changed as I got old.  I now can do without violence, blood, gore, mahem.  I quit going to movie theater when I would sit there with my eyes closed for at least half of the movie.
