It's the trade off ...we give them a life of comfort, protective care and love and they give us unconditional love but only for a short time....it is worth it over and over.

I really am sorry to read this. I cannot cope when our animal family members cross that rainbow bridge. You of course did the right thing sstaying with her as she went.
