I'm afraid it's going to be about a year and a half before the U.S. can make a major
impact on things.

Thank you so much for saying what some of us know and can do nothing. It makes me sick to see people think we can play nice and they will go away.

This post is so right on, as is the article. Actually, I was working on a post with somewhat overlapping themes when I started all the tech issues (#%$*)...Anyway, I see a same lack of courage in all areas of our society which seems to have gone hand-in-hand with the liberalization of our social mores. Since everything is OK, nothing can be shamed, everything must be accepted. That's how it's been for the last several years with the media....and applied to how we must deal with the world....accept everything, don't criticize, let them be who they are - fear of offending, fear of saying the wrong thing, fear of being seen as aggressors by the rest of the world, fear of being seen as biased, intolerant, prejudiced, whatever....it's all of a whole......and the mainstream media seem to be totally trained at this point to come at all stories, social and political, minor and major, from a fear perspective...JIMHO.
