It is the built-in intolerance of the Islamic faith and its barbaric violence that makes it repugnant to me…
Shouldn't that be By the Islamic faith and its barbaric violence that makes it repugnant to me??

Great post and timely....I don't have any idea how to know the difference without asking. I know the area where I work is heavily populated with Asians from all areas...no turbans, different kinds of dress, the Bollywood theaters, curry, Indian restaurants, and I know you told me in a comment that was most likely Sikh...but right down the highway is the huge mosque. Of course, I always treat people on a come as you are basis and expect the same. I guess in these days one just likes to know where to look a little more closely.

I remember learning about the differences in World Religions, which I took during my senior year of high school in 2003 (it was a semester long course).

Good Post and Nothing to disagree with here. I find like the people of Buddhist Faith that the Sikh people are tolerant of others and love their God.
But, because they have some different social and religious customs even though harmless to others, they are often misunderstood
