I don't know if it will prevent anything or not, but families should do things together, often and regularly. We always did things together, yet two of my four sons ran away from home. Son #1 returned after one month and was a real homebody after that, and Son #3 returned the next day having changed his mind overnight.

Life is changing and becoming out of control. Material things are taken over family and friends

Yes, I feel that families should do more things together. Preventing running away from home is one of them. Another is to foster a sense of community.

Come on Bill, let's ban Bon Jovi from ever entering one of your posts again. I think
times have changed so much. Many families have two working parents now. It is
difficult to be family oriented as much in todays world.

people do their best I am sure. need to work, one parent families, money troubles...today life seems so much bigger and faster than when I had my kids.
