Sounds like a big project, but the finished product will be so satisfying! Like Naut, I'd also love to see some pictures

A good idea Pat we have made some raised beds with wire frames lined with black plastic on ground that is difficult to access. I used to have a brick one like you are making

it really needs a dab of cement to hold the bricks , Of course a handy man could do it all in an hour those big expensive containers made of some ceramic material sometimes are suspect. My neighbor paid a bomb for one and although we have had a mild winter it is already splitting much to her chagrin. Plastic is cheap I suppose one could paint the plastic containers as my neighbor has done. Reently I have started growing veggies in

food safe plastic buckets, I got them off the net from Ebay.Sometimes bakers or such have them filled with jam or salad dressing and are then tossed out.

I think it's a great idea - in principle! But be aware (you've already been made aware, LOL) that you are using parts of your body you haven't used in that way in a long time, if ever. Hence, you must do warm-up exercises at the very least, in your case for the arms, legs and back! You can dig those out on the internet...You can even keep doing them when you're done with your yard, to stay in shape...

Also: I'm sure we would all love to see before-and-after pics - how about it?
