It is tough to find a Dr. with any sort of emphatic understanding towards their patients....I could tell so many stories from my nursing days...but I will say to you Congratulations. You have done all the difficult work yourself. The diet and the exercise. You seem to me to be in great shape. The diabetic problem has gone because of all your hard work and probably the cholesterol ...well it may be like me..mine is a bit high because it is hereditary on both sides of my family. If that is the case then your system will cope with it pretty well..otherwise every time you eat French fries go for a half hour walk... but well done

My mom lucked out with her two new doctors. Both are very thorough and check everything and then go over the numbers and tell her what it means. They go over medication changes and what the meds are for. Ask around...good luck.

I am fortunate with my physician and dentist. They are both very encouraging. I have not had enough experience with my eye doctor to form an opinion.

I suppose, they think it goes in one ear and out the other, which in many cases it does.
I think what I would do next time and there are not many bedside Doctors left.
I would ask if she says 5.6 etc. 'Yes thank you and what is the norm?' That is what I do it gives one some idea of how far up or down the scale one actually is.
