if his CHurch is full of Christians as opposed to just Church goers...then they should see that he and his family are adequately taken care of. Not all their wants perhaps, but their needs.

That is a tough one. I guess a living wage ($15/hour), but I do not feel strongly about it one way or the other.
I know priests that can afford nice vacations because they do not have a family. It all depends on the Order, though. Jesuits live super well for example.
