It is very interesting to read about your parents...I, too, have found that blame follows a lot of anger. With that, the cycle repeats itself.

Well K my Dad and I worked together until he died young and we spent many hours quarreling and swearing at each other. We never held a grudge though and it just passed
back into a friendly relationship. I don't think this would work with most married couples.

Hmmmm....
How can I handle this without making you angry and then I'll have to point out that it's your fault because you wrote the post after all..........
(OK....I'll try this)
I feel your pain...I kid you not when I say I never once, not at Christmas, on Birthdays, or Anniversaries......never...ever saw my parents kiss. Not even a peck or air kiss......
Joe's family is a bunch of huggers....when any gathering breaks up...everyone goes around and hugs everyone else goodbye. It was a horrific experience for me. I would awkwardly stiffen up.....it took years for me to learn that simple give and take of love.
So even though it's your fault here's my way of hugging you.....

Well - more here than I or anyone, for that matter, could deal with within the confines of a comment, LOL...Just to your very last point - the 'blameless', diffuse anger people 'acquire' often without being conscious of it is like a disease - it's like a cancer that will ultimately destroy them... Anger whose sourcee can be identfied, and can hence be 'blamed' is a 'healthier' form of anger, because it is more easily overcome...
