Re: adnohr
Don't become over sensitive adnohr, I shall be afraid to write of you and your brother scrunching rhubarb. Yes Archie is a good friend. I think. His married life is how he described it . A pain in the ass, but we need them.

Archie is a professional groucher, it seems.
I do believe he worries about you. Lovely poem, once again. I could practically smell the dust in that attic.

Re: Re: Taps
It always seemed a bit cruel Taps we had canaries as Kids but one even dropped dead from heart failure, we were hollering at each other. I guess it made us feel guilty.

Thanks Naut, it is always difficult to know what a true reaction is to anything, I wonder if Jimmy is OK.

Re: I should not like to come back as any caged bird...
No perhaps a Do Do, Pat. Yes I like raised gardens a lot of plants are ruined by marauding Tom cats on nightly spraying visits.

Re: CC
Well to be honest Justi some are old poems that I take and reconstruct . I think when one first writes anything it probably needs a fresh look or in some cases just discarded. Thank you.

Re: Archie
Well A. he is certainly better since his wife pulls his strings, but moaning is his forte.

Is Archie ever in a good mood? Memories tug at our heart strings and pry open the door we thought long shut inside of us

Boy that Archie seems like a grouch. I agree with many of the comments, that was
quite the poem.

I had to go back to that lovely poem again and yet again, that is beautiful. Your work is awesome. I do not understand how you do so much but I am so proud of you, and your poetry is just beyond magnificant.

I should not like to come back as any caged bird...
but I do like thinking about all the sweet-sad old things. A raised garden is just the ticket for backs no longer young and all that flexible.

Raised gardens, gardens of any sort, and gardening season and weather always make me feel excited, even though I'm not doing much of the gardening myself now.

This again is superb! I had the sensation one gets when entering an attic full of outworn, sad and dusty memories...

In my Grandpa's day, they used pretty little canaries to test the air in the coal mines. If a miner saw a canary dead in its cage, the miners vacated post haste.
