Nautikos

Well, can't believe that!  I'm not worried in the least about calling a spade a spade.  I think the line that may hold a real clue to a big part of the problem was this: Don’t dismiss what he’s saying because he’s Republican!

I do watch a lot of Fox News and some of the programs are completely skewed conservative, but more of them do have at least a presentation of both sides, and a couple have a very balanced presentation of both sides.  That said, at night I watch PBS Newshour and during the day I will watch at least some CNN and HLN.  While this is nothing like your news diet, I'm just stating that I feel like I get a fairly rounded overview of what's going on.  I am beginning to think that because of the highly partisan atmosphere in this country right now this may well be the problem as much as anything....as much as actual ignorance that there is a problem, perhaps the issue is the belief this is all a Republican hot button, just more rhetoric and there is just blind swallowing of the WH line, etc., and as you can see, acceptance of the line about how PC we must be....  I may not have made any sense with all that but I just hadn't really looked at it like that....freefall is an excellent word for it.

I'm glad you said the U.S. can't do it all. I think many people including myself don't

want to be seen as not being politically correct. It may sound like racism towards

 Muslims.
