Re:

oh no cats for me...not even free!  with all the travelling I do it isn't a good idea for me to have a pet.

Re:

we didn't have a shed... but we did have a nice big back yard as well as a back porch they could have easily roamed

I myself have a negative association with most dogs. I could write a series about that...Cats do not bother me. If I was in your situation, I would be feeling that way as well, I would imagine.

cats like dogs have to learn the house rules. And I was thinking of sending you a little kitten as an Easter gift. Oh well it will have to be a hug.

Well, I understand your angst, but you shouldn't be put off to cats in general because of the actions of those two! My last girlfriend, whom I lived with before meeting my wife, had two cats ( a brother and sister combo ) who were completely out of control! I hated them, or rather, living with them! But my wife has always been a cat-lover, and we have 'several' cats with us right now, and they're all loving and special! There's good and bad everywhere, even in the world of cats. Please don't judge them all in such a negative light . . .

A good job it wasn't a tiger. Your sister should  have kept it in a shed.
