You must get a lot of entertainment, enjoyment and humor out of your writing groups, as well as a little irritation now and then.  They do say that variety is the spice of life.

I was so lucky growing up. I was often mean to Mother but she was so loving.Out of the teen years though, she was my best friend for years until that rotten Alzheimer creep took her away from us.

PatB

Seems co-operation and caring come across in your meeting spot love. My operation is a BCC removal on my head for a biopsy.

Childhood experince always explains much about people; a shared commonality usually gives a platform for bonding so that's a good thing for your group.  I'm glad the warmth with which you speak of your children indicates you were able to stop any patterns in rearing your own; so many people seem unable to help following the dotted lines.

Well Pat it is strange, but my Mother tried to be loving, but as she said she had to care for little children when young and no-one had taught her or treated her in a loving way.

Ironically when she had dementia, she asked me never to put her in a Home at the onset. Do you remember Jane Eyre. The lady  who was locked in her room, wife of the master. In those days it was thought to be some kind of curse. My Mum was like that until she could not walk any more. Of course I never kept her locked in a room.

Pat

Interesting! The exchange about that common experience will also probably smoothe the way to a more congenial relatonship with ol' Peg...

BTW: I've tried td clarify things a bit for you and others in 'View'...

I do believe there were many who had the same type of parents at that time, Pat-B. I wonder if it was because most women had to struggle so hard just to get by, and usually there was a passle of kids to feed to boot. Each generation has it easier and easier. Not so difficult to spend loving time with the little ones when there is less work and worry.
