I think there's a difference between proven and alleged.....and once an anchor or reporter, responsible for bringing us factual news, has a proven lie and possibly another (the Katrina deal was dropped when he bowed out)....sorry, stick a fork in Brian - he's done as an Anchor for me where I don't care about grandstanding, I want integrity, no question.  I also don't want the message sent to our young about soft consequences for the lack of integrity in these situations.....I'm not saying 50 lashes, he just doesn't get that spot back.

What Jimmy wrote makes sense. I also add that one has to look at the proximity of the event. Right now, Brian Williams would be a distraction.

I think it may depend on what they lied about in the first place, and what the fund-raiser is for. Whatever happened to 'forgive and forget?'
