This is, to me, the best of your writing I've read since I've returned. It reminds me of something you wrote years ago that was set in a smokey club, and involved jazz, a husky voiced woman and her nylons (I think).....I remember liking it a lot, too. I've probably missed other posts with these elements...you really have a feel for them. Anyway, to echo other comments...superb!
