lustor

i am more concerned about the gmo's i try to steer clear of them.....i eat local or home grown, you can do wonders in a container garden, and then wash everything well.  i believe our food and drugs, the water, they all cause cancer.

I buy local if I can and farmer's markets are good so is home grown but I feed too many birds and animals....they would eat everything and the fruit trees on the property I leave the fruit for the animals. To see a squirel with a wild pear in her paw and the juice dripping down her front is a joy too good to miss.

Wash the fruits and they are still better for a person than chicken and meat that is full of antibiotics.

The reason they do all the research on organic versus regular is the GMOs.  They have found how much the GMOs cause weight gain and other health issues.  Buying organic avoids the GMOs.

sounds like you feel the same way I do

Using the term 'organic' is a way for the various produce manufacturers to make their products sound more natural than they actually are. It basically refers to the lack of use of chemicals and pesticides normally used to preserve and protect the fruits and vegetables before they're harvested. But I've always felt that Mother Nature had a way of doing that all by Herself all these years! Most of the time, our 'interference' made things worse! And you're right . . . that research and grant monies could be put to better use, like trying to win the fight against certain cancers!

I do not buy organic fruits and vegetables either. I have my suspicions as well...My guess, and it is only a guess, is that buying local is the best option.
