Two of my male gay friends were married three years ago, and they call each other 'Baby' and 'Darling' (the French version) all the time.I expect the confusion is because we are only getting chapters here and there; if we were reading the story from the beginning, we'd already haved tagged each character in our minds. Great writing!

That clarifies things pretty well...and I guess it is just that I have never heard two guys calling each other pet names ...well endearing ones anyway, that it didn't gel with me. The Hon. Otherwise it 's a great kneww jerk reaction to ensure he's dead with the bang with the shovel. I sort of like the broken neck and then the shovel to be sure.
