At first when I was little it didn't matter so much to me...but as I grow older I crave to know more about the cultures of my forefathers.

a lot of truth here. I have seen many what we called New Australians from all over the World, feel sad that the CHildren or Grandchildren had no interest in the language or customs from the OLD COUNTRY.

Ummmmm....I believe that depends,,,,how deeply, how firmly planted and how much room they were given in which to spread out. I have a fern over 80 years old that has been transplanted to many soils from my grandmother's front porch.
