It's scary sometimes when the 'cure' turns out to be almost as bad as the ailment. There are many things with our bodies that we can control with a simple change in diet, but other things do require medical attention. And if there's a slight chance these conditions are hereditary, then everyone in that line should be checked out . . .

Some people have a better intuitive sense of their body's condition than others, and as a lady with intuition to spare I think you're one of them! That's not to disregard the doctors' advice (they have studied more mediciine than you and I put together, LOL), but to see it as part of the whole. After all, while there's a lot of science involved, medicine is not an exact science!
Having said all that, I really wish you the best and hope you get everythingh under control...
And I had to chuckle at Dr. Pfuetze's name! Knowing a little German, I can tell you that his name in German means Puddle - the thing one tries to avoid after a rain! (Even my Bennie doesn't like to step into puddles, LOL)!

Well obviously things may run in families , in a bizarre way it is useful to know. Of course
it may not have shown the trait in forbears as the life expectancy was never great. It is worrying but at least it does not mean it is always hereditary. I do admire your tenacity.

sounds like your heart is having a tough time...I live with inherited high cholesterol but don't take any thing for it. Just keep the diet within something resembling normal. My Bp is always low so since my cholesteral is inherited...I just watch myself. heart is normal. Once when I was taking liptor my Liver became really dirty and aia cleaned it by drinking a little health food store vinegar every morning. That was a terrible morning chore but it cleaned the liver for me.
