I have bookshelves full of books on writing and things I write about.  If nothing is on my shelves that I resort to the internet.  I come to rely on the free dictionary and thesaurus so I don't have to keep getting up to use them.

Well I am afraid I only use dictionaries Ciel I have five or more two on the computer because I am a lousy speller. I have got various other books, such as the Thesaurus and such. If In am totally unsure I ask Arthur for the precise meaning.

Mostly I just hope for the best and try to rememberer the nominative.

depends..usually Google which will give me lots of places to browse..including of course Wikileaks....I Have used libraries, my own books ...I had some wonderful costume books but gave them to my Sister...and for Aboriginal history I go to a Library or two in Australia, museums and have books of my own.

I've got a lot of writers how-to books & references.

One that comes in handy quite often is "The Timetables of History" - which lists in very brief form the who, what, where, when from ancient times to now, set up in quick to read columns according to history, the arts, politics, inventions, medicine, etc...
