Well, I just wrote my own post about being your own health advocate and my experience with inept docs....that said, there are plenty of good ones out there and you do have to do your part.  It sounds like you have and losing all that weight and getting exercise has probably dropped you from the pre-diabetic range.  But, are you testing your blood sugar yourself regularly?  That is something you should be doing, you know.  I am also pre-diabetic, have been for years after having been misdiagnosed as fullblown diabetic in '05 at an e/r visit and put on insulin which I went right off of when my regular doctor saw me and took more tests.  Anyway, good luck with your good habits....and take your thyroid meds but, mainly, test yourself!

not a younger doctor

Well I think the younger Doctors with new knowledge try to do their best. Let's face it LLL/ It is a bit of a job in ten minutes or about five here for someone to diagnose  an illness. As A Doctor said to me we give patients pills and half of them do not take them.

I just hope it is good news.

maybe a law suit would get her attention

I trust doctors much less than I did. A few years ago, I developed an astigmatism in both eyes that took nearly two years to diagnose after seeing several doctors. I still trust doctors, but there is a lingering doubt in my mind at times.

That is strange that she would not test to establish any sort of baseline. With the work you have put in, I would be stunned if you became a diabetic...Keep up the great work.

You are right in this one. She should have taken a base line without the thyroid pills...which I will smack your bottom for not taking by the way. Sigh!!! Twins can be so Naughty!! however, I am thinking that your diabetic status should be the same as you continue to exercise and eat sensibly. I am really very proud of you...another twin thing. LOL
