Not a believer myself but stranger things have happened. My RN experiences were to incorporate some alterntive therapies along with conventional medicine and that works really well. Using the mind to encourage the body to fight with the medical treatment for a holistic healing.

The other side of that coin is my father's father
a dedicated Christian Science believer who died young of an operable stomach tumor.

Perhaps it was a phantom dog, she might have been overtired and dreamed the whole thing after she attended to the patient. I would really have liked to see the wounds, before she was cured. Can you imagine a fierce dog being allowed to stay in a hospital. I once fell into a pit and was lifted out by Angels before I reached the bottom. I don't tell anyone though.
